ECM infrastructure architecture… and unrelated matters.

an open source collection

by @ 5:14 pm on September 27, 2005.

While working for several months with an e-government group I collected a significant amount of research in the area of open source solutions for e-government and other public sector groups. Of course, this collection is not restricted to the public sector, but at the time the study and evaluation of open source was being driven by government - mostly in Europe and the developing world. Interest in North America was low.

To host this collection I selected a free, open source document management system known as Plone. Thanks to Objectis for providing a free hosting site at pmh.objectis.net.

Although the site is now inactive, the collection is still available and most of the reports and articles provide a good background on the nature and potential of open source solutions.

Cheers,
-pmh
